"27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
"28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the dearth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."
Genesis 1:28 KJV
This law and commandment is still in effect today. There are still many of our brothers and sisters that have yet to be born upon this earth. Each will be given their own trials and challenges to overcome. Each is required to repent, do good, and have faith in Christ in order to return to our Heavenly Father. We as parents have a sacred responsibility to raise our children in love and righteousness. Heavenly Father would not introduce "population control" when he commands us strictly to multiply and replenish the earth. This is a concept wrought by the great deceiver himself, Lucifer. He wants us to believe that some things are only little sins. You can ask for forgiveness later. Go for it. It is not wrong to commit such a little act. He would even have some believe that some things are not sins at all. That Heavenly Father made them this way so it must be okay.
Our loving father has given each of us this life that we might have joy. Not just here on earth, but more importantly, in Heaven. We must live our lives according to the commandments of God. For no unclean thing may inherit the Kingdom of God.
However, we all fall short. We, as humans, make mistakes. There is no mortal man that has lived upon this earth who has not sinned. There is not one man who can claim his reward in the Kingdom on his own merit. It can only be done through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.
In the early hours before his death Christ took upon himself not only the sins, but the pains and sicknesses, both physical and emotional, of all the world. Only he could bear it and yet even he had to have the support of angels. Even he wept and cried that the cup might be lifted from him. Yet, he who bled from every pore as he took it all on, said unto the Father: "Not my will but thine be done".
He asks of us but one thing: "Come, follow me". Follow him. This does not mean we simply say "Christ I believe!" as some would have us believe. This means we must follow in his footsteps. We must DO as he has commanded us. We cannot simply expect that Christ will do all the work for us and that our part is done. It is never done. We can never repay our debt to him. His arm is only extended as far as it takes for us to put in all our effort to make it. We cannot do it on our own. However, with his help we will make it. But we must do everything within our power to follow him, repent, and have faith on his name.
"38 For no man can be saved, according to the words of Christ, save they shall have faith in his name; wherefore, if these things have ceased, then has faith ceased also; and awful is the state of man, for they are as though there had been no redemption made.
"39 But behold, my beloved brethren, I judge better things of you, for I judge that ye have faith in Christ because of your meekness; for if ye have not faith in him then ye are not fit to be numbered among the people of his church.
"40 And again, my beloved brethren, I would speak unto you concerning hope. How is it that ye can attain unto faith, save ye shall have hope?
"41 And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise.
"42 Wherefore, if a man have faith he must needs have hope; for without faith there cannot be any hope.
"43 And again, behold I say unto you that he cannot have faith and hope, save he shall be meek, and lowly of heart.
"44 If so, his faith and hope is vain, for none is acceptable before God, save the meek and lowly in heart; and if a man be meek and lowly in heart, and confesses by the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ, he must needs have charity; for if he have not charity he is nothing; wherefore he must needs have charity.
"45 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
"46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—
"47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.
"48 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen." Moroni 7: 38-48 BoM
Have faith. For this is the foundation and we must build upon it. It leads to charity, the pure love of Christ. The pinnacle of our faith if we nurture it. Again I say it:
"41 But if ye will nourish the word, yea, nourish the tree as it beginneth to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with apatience, looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and behold it shall be a tree bspringing up unto everlasting life.
"42 And because of your adiligence and your faith and your patience with the word in nourishing it, that it may take root in you, behold, by and by ye shall pluck the bfruit thereof, which is most precious, which is sweet above all that is sweet, and which is white above all that is white, yea, and pure above all that is pure; and ye shall feast upon this fruit even until ye are filled, that ye hunger not, neither shall ye thirst.
"43 Then, my brethren, ye shall areap the brewards of your faith, and your diligence, and patience, and long-suffering, waiting for the tree to bring forth cfruit unto you." Alma 32: 41-43
"28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the dearth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."
