Forever do I wander,
Through the land before me torn.
While the hills are thrown asunder,
By the notes of birds forlorn.
I find that I am walking,
Through empty fields of corn.
But I see The Tiger stalking,
Through the yellow stalks so shorn.
Yet for a while my heart has leaped,
The beats of one and two.
Lo! Before mine eye an angel weeps,
And lights the world anew.
These tear drops stain a face so pure.
And create a river deep.
That carries on a path so sure,
Beneath our sodden feet.
Her hands stretch forth in want of love.
Desire for one so lost.
I take them in no thought above,
No wonderance of the cost.
