As over the years, I've watched the rain, Falling down my windowpane. I think about that heartfelt soul, I fall with him, I feel his pain.
I'm lost within the deepest hole, I walk the desert sands alone. This sun no longer warms my heart, But I stay here, and fill my role.
I've seen it coming from the start. I've traveled many worlds apart. I still hold fast, despite the cold. I wait the coming of wondrous lark.
I've seen the men both young and old. Few have known the things I've told. I look upon another day, To let them wander from the fold.
I stand alone in empty bay, And to the world, 'tis this I say: From your demise, I look away. From your demise, I look away.
